Marriage Retreat 2010:
"Marriage Retreat 2010: From This Day Forward" will be held Oct 22-24 at the Winshape Retreat(on the campus of Berry College in Rome, GA).
If you are attending the Marriage Retreat please turn in 2 photos(1 from your wedding day and 1 more recent) to Joe Washington by the end of August. Ensure that both of you are in each picture.

Room Rates: 1st Floor-$339, 2nd Floor-$388;
includes Seminar, 5 meals per person, lodging, and tax.

Food Bank: Time to restock our food pantry. Grocery gift cards(in small denominations- $10/$15) are always needed, and also look for the board with post-it notes in the lobby with recommendations for additional items. All shelf storable food items or gift cards can be handed to Peter or Nancy Berry at any service, or just call them to coordinate at 678-376-1878.

Music Ministry:
For anyone who would like to participate in the choir, from now on the choir will rehearse on the third Sunday of every month, after church for an hour.
If you have an interest in participating in the choir check with Melvin Jordan, Kendall Knight or Diane Knight.

Prayer Requests

Pray for Rick Roberson and his family, as he was admitted to Gwinnett Medical Center with abcess.

Please pray for Karl Lynn and his family as he undergoes Total Knee Replacement surgery on Monday, Aug 30, at Dekalb Medical Center.

Pray for Georgina Bruce's brother, Clifton Allison, who has high blood pressure and diabetes. Please pray that his blood pressure and glucose levels will normalize.

Also pray for Gary "Grub" Smith's aunt, Billie Ann Smith, who's in the hospital in Chattanooga with a fractured back and a CAT Scan has revealed a mass. She is waiting for test results to determine whether the mass is cancerous. Please pray for her back to heal and that there is no cancer.

Pray for Dave Bruce's 83 year old aunt, Lou Miller, who suffered a stroke Friday(8/13) and is in critical condition.

Pray for Brittny Merene's mom, Deloris, who has a cataract that will need to be removed. She now has an eye surgery for Sep 8 on her left eye. There is also a cataract on her right eye, but will have surgery for that one later. Other than the cataracts she is doing well.

Please continue to pray for Denise Tripp's father, Dennis Barnes, who was unresponsive and was admitted to the hospital on Thursday with an ammonia level over 190 which is high enough to normal induce a coma. Thanks to all your prayers his ammonia level is decreasing, he is responding with limited speech, and is in good spirits. Prayers are also appreciated for Denise's family, especially her mother Eloise who is suffering physically and emotionally as a result of her husband's illness.

Pray for Russ McGarr and his family concerning the passing of his Aunt Milly in Chicago on Friday(8/13).

Pray for Kathy Winchell's mother, Loraine, who will be having surgery some time in the next 2-3 weeks. Please pray that when she goes for her pre-surgery testing, the doctors will find no reason for her to have surgery. If they do decide to continue with surgery, please pray for all to go well, and for a great recovery.

Continue to pray for Melvin Jordan's brother, Ernie, who has stage 4 lung cancer. He's had 2 rounds of treatment and the tumor is still growing. Please pray for healing and that he will become a disciple and also for Melvin's mom whom Ernie stays with.

Please pray for Robin Thornton, who heart catheterization went well and showed no blockages, but doctors still don't know why here heart is racing. She will be referred to a specialist in New Orleans. Please continue to pray for God's will to be done.

Pray for a family friend, Waynet, who has cancer in her pelvic bone and bladder. She has a 4 year old daughter and is in her 30's. Pray for God to heal her, as this is her second battle with cancer.

Please pray for Jerome Tench's mother, Lola(in Boston, MA), who was taken to the hospital yesterday. The doctors found a lump that they think might be cancer. Pray for the doctors treating her and that God will ease her pain.

Pray for Eddie Francis, Bill's brother, who has been undergoing cancer treatments. The doctors have discovered a new growth that will be biopsied soon. Pray that it is not cancerous.

Pray for Sharon Ross' nephew Garrison, who is 4 years old and will undergo brain surgery in September.

Pray for Birt Anglin's dad, Austin, who was diagnosed with cancer.
Also pray for Birt's brother, Lonnie, who was injured while changing a tire and is at the hospital with a broken clavicle and suffering other injuries.

Please pray for Kyle Ross' cousin Verlean Allen. She has diagnosed with colon cancer, with the mass consuming half her liver and a quarter of her lung. Please pray for the chemo treatment to cause her cancer to go into remission.

Please continue to pray for the Rouses' daughter Laura, her husband Nick and her daughter Evelyn as they rebuild their lives following a fire in a neighboring apartment, which caused them to lose virtually all of their belongings.

Please continue to pray for Hadlee Rose Mustain, the great-niece of Rebecca Sample, who is now home after an extended hospital stay due to complications with her premature birth. There are still some concerns with her hearing and sight and she will still be connected to monitors for several months. Please pray that everything continues to improve.

Pray for James Martinez' friend, Traci Taylor, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

Please pray for Lisa Woung's aunt, Sonia Fardella, who has M.S. and has been very ill for many years. She is now in ICU, unable to eat, and may be getting a feeding tube. Also pray for Michael, her son, who has cared for her, that he will be at peace with God's decision for his mom.

Please continue to pray for Rick Roberson in his recovery from cancer.

Please pray for Birt Anglin as he is in need of a kidney transplant.
Please pray that he would find the right donor.
